You can eat well, exercise regularly,  be relatively young and still have high cholesterol in your blood.

Instances of seemingly unexplainable “high cholesterol” in many people is common and often, they’ll attribute to genetics or nature, resigned to the fact that having high cholesterol is an unescapable fact of their life. But little do they know that cholesterol levels in the blood s not merely affected by lifestyle, diet and exercise.

Thyroid hormones can play a role here too as it aids our liver in processing and removing excess cholesterol from our bodies. Being hypothyroid means that the body is unable to efficiently process and remove cholesterol from the body.

So consult your doctor and make sure you have your thyroid checked if you have unexplained high cholesterol levels.
